Common questions
Everything people ask before their first class. Something not here? Email us or call 613-291-6098.
- When do classes start?
- Classes begin on Dec 1, 2026. You can join now — your card is saved and nothing is charged until opening day — and book your first class as soon as the timetable opens.
- Do I need any boxing experience to start?
- No. Fundamentals classes are built for beginners, and every class starts from proper form — stance, footwork and punch mechanics before speed and power. Fighters and people training purely for fitness work on the same floor, and the coaching meets you at whatever level you walk in with.
- Do I have to spar?
- No. Sparring happens only where a coach has specifically authorised it, so it is never something you are put into. You can train indefinitely on pads, bags and partner drills without ever sparring.
- How much does it cost?
- Memberships start at $74.99 every two weeks. There is no joining fee and no lock-in contract.
- Is there a contract or a joining fee?
- Neither. Memberships bill every two weeks and you can cancel at any time from your account — your access then continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. Ontario law also gives you ten days from signing to cancel the agreement outright.
- How do I book a class?
- Classes are booked online from the schedule once you have a membership or a class pass. You get a confirmation email when you book and a reminder the day before. Walk-in day passes for open gym do not need a booking.
- What if I book a class and cannot make it?
- Cancel from your account up to 2 hours before the class starts and nothing is charged — a class credit goes straight back on your account. Inside that window the credit is not returned.
- Can I pause my membership?
- Yes. Recurring memberships include one 30-day freeze a year, which you start from your account. Billing stops for the freeze and picks up again when it ends.
- What is open gym?
- Open gym is unbooked floor time — you come in during the posted hours and put in your own rounds on the bags. Unlimited open gym access is included with the Founding and Ultimate memberships.
- How old do you have to be?
- Signing up online is for adults 18 and over. Anyone under 18 can train, but the membership and waiver have to be completed in person by a parent or legal guardian.
- Where is the gym?
- OneTwoSlipTwo is at 5-1580 Liverpool Street, Ottawa, ON, K1B 4L2. You can reach the gym on 613-291-6098 or at onetwosliptwo@hotmail.com.
